A solvent-based tire and trim dressing that uses hydrocarbon solvents to deliver a satin finish on rubber and plastic surfaces.
Key Chemistry
pH Level
Active Mechanism
solvent penetration conditioning
Surfactants
1 (nonionic)

I've been a long-time user of Gummi and use it mostly on trim, rather than dressing my all-terrain tires. Gummi has a very rewarding balance of darkening and sheen. It's a little runnier than expected so I stopped using a brush and prefer to use a soft foam applicator. A little goes a very long way.
Expert Analysis
Uses C12-C16 hydrocarbon solvents as both carrier and active ingredient to penetrate and condition rubber and plastic surfaces. The solvent-based approach allows for deeper penetration than water-based alternatives, while nonionic surfactants help achieve even distribution and the claimed satin finish.
Key Differentiators
- •Cream consistency reduces dripping and waste during application compared to liquid dressings
- •Biodegradable formulation addresses environmental concerns common with solvent-based products
Potential Concerns
- ⚠Solvent-based formula may attract dirt more readily than water-based alternatives
- ⚠Cream consistency requires more application effort compared to spray-on dressings
- ⚠No longevity claims provided, which may indicate shorter protection duration
- ⚠Hydrocarbon solvents can potentially cause slight swelling on certain rubber compounds with repeated use
