Dean's TakeJan 29, 2026

Green Star is so common, it's barely worth adding my opinion. I use it on everything except interiors. My favorite is diluted 1:1 for engine bays, just like Matt from Obsessed Garage recommends. Never seen my engine bay look so good.

Expert Analysis

Uses a high-alkaline formula at pH 12.5 combined with anionic and nonionic surfactants for heavy-duty degreasing and cleaning. Special corrosion inhibitors protect sensitive components like anodized aluminum during the cleaning process. The wide dilution range from 1:5 to 1:30 allows users to adjust strength based on contamination levels.

Key Differentiators

  • Corrosion inhibitors specifically designed for anodized aluminum protection
  • Biodegradable formula despite high alkalinity
  • Wide dilution flexibility from heavy degreasing to light cleaning

Potential Concerns

  • High alkalinity requires careful handling
  • Eye damage hazard
  • Not suitable for sensitive surfaces
